Join the Boothbay Region Clean Drinking Water Initiative for the second session in the From Forests to Faucets lecture series: Lake Scorecards — a free public presentation exploring how long-term water quality data helps us better understand, protect, and steward Maine’s lakes.
Taking place on Tuesday, May 19th at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens Bosarge Family Education Center, this session will highlight the science, stewardship, and community effort behind lake monitoring programs across the state.
From tracking changing lake conditions to identifying aquatic invasive species, long-term observations play an important role in protecting the waters that support our ecosystems, recreation, and drinking water supplies. The presentation will also touch on the careful training, data collection, and quality assurance practices that help turn volunteer observations into reliable scientific records.
Whether you’re passionate about conservation, interested in water quality, or simply curious about the lakes and waterways that shape our region, this is a great opportunity to learn more about the ongoing work happening across Maine!
