Seasonal Water Service

The Boothbay Region Water District seasonal water start up date is guaranteed by May 1st each year. The shutoff date will happen after October 1st — usually on the third Thursday of October. You may visit our Seasonal Water Service page to view the most up-to-date status for your region.

Seasonal customers not wanting water service need to notify our office before July 1st. Upon notification and provided no usage has taken place, the meter will be removed, and the bill reversed. PUBLIC NOTICE

Boothbay Region Water District
Water Main Flushing Program

May 6 - June 3, 2026

The Boothbay Region Water District will be conducting water main flushing over the next four (4) weeks throughout the towns of Boothbay, East Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, and Southport Island.

This important maintenance work helps to ensure high water quality by removing sediment from the distribution system and verifying the proper operation of hydrants and valves.

Flushing will occur during both daytime and evening hours. Customers may experience temporary discoloration of water and/or a slight drop in water pressure during this time. While the water remains safe to use, residents are advised to avoid doing laundry when discoloration is present.

If you notice persistent discoloration, please run your cold water until it clears. If the issue continues, contact the Boothbay Region Water District office.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete this essential system maintenance.
